2 men discussing design plans

A Title III - ADA Compliance Inspection is physical survey of a public accommodation such as a privately owned business, restaurant, lodging facility, etc. The primary difference between a CASp inspection/Accessibility Survey and an ADA Compliance Inspection is the application of standards. The ADA Compliance inspection only applies the federal ADA standards whereas the other evaluations do not.

Why would I want an ADA Compliance Inspection rather than a CASp Inspection?

If your business is in California, a CASp inspection will provide you with the most value in terms of applicable information and legal benefits. However if you have facilities nationwide, it may be better to evaluate your entire portfolio using the same standards. Doing so will allow you to create an effective barrier removal plan for all of your facilities. Since only ADA compliance is being evaluated, your contractor will need to research your state and local building requirements before making any alterations.
