Did you know that many serial litigants use Google to identify which facilities to target?

Serial litigants do not actually need to visit the facilities that they file claims against. So how do they identify which facilities to target? Drive-by lawsuits used to be more common way to target facilities but with such an abundance of information available on the internet, gathering evidence about out-of-compliance facilities has never been easier. When you know what to look for (and they do), dozens of facilities can be targeted in a single day by using satellite imagery.

A Digital Accessibility Evaluation is a review of your facility using satellite imagery and street views to identify the most obvious barriers to accessibility within your site. This type of evaluation applies only to exterior facilities and is very limited in scope but the information provided can help you take the necessary steps to improve some the most obvious elements that are out of compliance and reduce the chances of being targeted for an accessibility related lawsuit.

A physical CASp inspection is always going to be the best method for evaluating a facility but a Digital Accessibility Evaluation is an effective and economical way to assess your risk of being targeted.
